For most travelers, Maldives is synonymous with overwater living—and Dusit D2’s Overwater Pool Villas are a love letter to that dream.

Far from what one might expect from a “entry-level resort,” these villas deliver a premium experience in both design and detail.

Step into the villa, and you’re greeted with a spacious foyer—a rarity in Maldivian resort design.

This area functions as a transition space changing your shoes into slippers to keep the indoors clean, and also as a tidy storage zone for luggage after unpacking.

The bedroom offers uninterrupted views of the turquoise lagoon through an expansive front-facing window.

Light pours in through vertical slit windows placed strategically near the tea table, adding a soft, natural glow to the space.

The interior palette is minimalist yet elevated, with calming whites and warm wood tones that allow the vibrant blues of the lagoon to stand out as a visual anchor. While fully enclosed with a ceiling, the entire space is designed with an open-air concept that allows guests to enjoy an outdoor ambiance, featuring only a ceiling fan instead of air conditioning.

What sets this villa apart is its circular flow layout—guests can move seamlessly from the sea or private pool straight into the bathroom. Moreover, the bathtub is placed right by the window, so you can soak while gazing at the vast turquoise beyond.

The outdoor deck, accessible from nearly every part of the villa, includes shaded overhangs for comfort any time of day.

For added privacy, the two Overwater Pool Villas closest to the island feature L-shaped privacy screens by the pool—cleverly designed to block beachside views, a thoughtful touch rarely seen even in top-tier resorts.

And yes—there’s more. A generous 4m x 3m private pool, an overwater hammock,

and direct staircase access to the house reef (instead of a ladder!) make this villa a dream come true for snorkelers and sunseekers alike.

Waterfront Pool Villa

A hybrid between beach villa and water villa, the Waterfront Pool Villa is a spacious 140 sqm—15 sqm larger than the Overwater Pool Villa—and feels like a unique hideaway where tropical greenery meets open ocean.

While the entrance mimics that of a beach villa, the interior reveals something far more exotic: a direct ocean view the moment you step inside.

There’s no dedicated foyer here; instead, the bedroom welcomes you immediately with a central bed, lounge seating, and a tea table for soaking in that perfect view.

To one side, you’ll find a dining table by the window—ideal for in-villa dining.

Behind the bed is a well-placed minibar and wardrobe,

and a door that leads to a bathroom shrouded in lush foliage, designed to feel like you’re showering in the forest.

The bathroom uses the same emerald accent tiles and clean wood-and-white tones as the Overwater Villa, keeping the design language consistent.

A central bathtub, flanked by a vanity and an enclosed indoor shower/toilet, creates a balanced, spa-like layout.

There’s even an outdoor rain shower, adding a wild touch to the experience.

Out front, the villa opens onto a deck with a long infinity pool, overwater hammock,

besides, swing chairs, sunbeds, and dining table—all nestled under an extended eave.

The villa is just steps away from the house reef, separated only by a breakwater, offering guests the ultimate snorkeling convenience.

Beach Villa with Pool

Tucked along the shoreline, the Beach Villa with Pool is the ideal choice for families—especially those traveling with young children. At 115 sqm, it trades sweeping views for enhanced privacy, with dense landscaping shielding the pool and villa from beachgoers’ sight.

This setup creates your own slice of paradise—a true private beach where you can unwind without interruption.

As with the other villas, the outdoor deck features long eaves and a ceiling fan to keep you cool even in the midday sun.

The interior closely mirrors that of the Waterfront Pool Villa,

with a minibar and dining table on one side, and a smart TV and curated artwork on the other.

Behind the bed is the wardrobe and entry to the bathroom,

One unique feature that sets the Beach Villa with Pool apart from the Waterfront Pool Villa is a hidden extra room located opposite the wardrobe. Since the beach villas are a popular choice for family vacations, this additional space is designed with families in mind. It can be set up with an extra bed to provide a separate, independent area for children traveling with their parents.

The family-friendly design of the Beach Villa with Pool is also reflected in the bathroom. Unlike the Overwater Pool Villa and the Waterfront Pool Villa, which each have a single sink, the Beach Villa with Pool features a double vanity—an added convenience for families or larger groups traveling together.

A pop of emerald tile—mirroring the brilliant hues of the Maldivian sea—adds a refreshing touch of color and ties the space to its tropical surroundings.
